There are three tracks to the music programming at Red Newt.
The Sunset Chamber Music series take place in the early evening in order to capture the beauty of the Finger Lakes sunset over Seneca Lake. These programs draw on incredible well of musical talent in the Finger Lakes as well as from musicians across the globe. Several performances are planned each fall and spring, and the focus is not only great music, but in making a connection with the musicians through music and conversation in an intimate space. Admission is by reservation and doors open early to allow guests to take a table and order from our special menu of lite fare prior to the start of the concert. Of course a great selection of Red Newt wines are also served.
The Lunchtime Music Series is very informal and eclectic. Musical styles range from solo jazz piano, to modern string duos to folk. Music starts a 1pm and is open to guests free and without reservations. Lunch is served concurrently from our regular menu from 11am – 3pm.
Happy Hour every Friday from 5pm – 7pm. An eclectic mix of folk, blues, jazz and old-time music. Up close and personal with great wine, beer, cider and localvore fare from the Bistro kitchen.

Maplewood Jazz Team will be performing at Red Newt Winery in Hector NY on Friday August 10th, from 5PM to 7PM. MJT is Lisa Fernandez on vocals and percussion, Jon Conrad on vocals and acoustic guitar, and John Bailey on vocals and jazz electric guitar. "We perform jazz and bossa nova renditions of popular songs from the 1920s through the 1970s. We will be joined at Red Newt by the fine bassist Doug Robinson."

The Yardvarks formed as a side-project of John & Ken's in 2005 as a vehicle for a mixture of original material and unlikely covers (we often refer to our repertoire as "neo-obscuro") featuring rich vocal harmony and semi-acoustic instrumental interplay. Bass player Eric Ott and drummer Dan Lashkoff rounded out the band, with the later addition of guitarist Roy Flacco.
