SUMMARY:Tenzin Chopak - Sunday 12/1
DESCRIPTION:Afternoon Lunch Music\nTenzin Chopak is an artist and songwriter based in Ithaca\, NY.  The son of a minister and a painter\, and the brother of a fellow musician and songwriter Greg Horne\, Tenzin was immersed in music through his father’s church in Oak Ridge\, Tennessee.  He studied voice\, piano\, and guitar in his childhood and youth\, frequently performing his original music publicly both solo and in various bands. Chopak was also involved with visual art\, theater\, and modern dance. In 1999\, after some years of a burgeoning devotion to the study of Tibetan language and religion\, he traveled to North India.  It was during his eight month stay there that he was given the name “Tenzin Chopak”. For the following twelve years\, while continuing his study of Tibetan in upstate\, NY\, Tenzin kept music a quiet if not hidden part of his life. \nIn late 2011 he began to write and perform publicly again. Teaming up with renowned banjo player Richie Stearns\, violinist vocalist Rosie Newton\, violinist Eric Aceto\, and bassist Ethan Jodziewicz\, he formed an ensemble he called Rockwood Ferry as a vehicle for his music. Since then\, he released three albums under the Rockwood Ferry name (bringing in other respected players such as bassist Rich DePaolo\, drummer Bill King\, and horn player/multi instrumentalist Peter Dodge). His fourth and fifth albums were released within a few months of each other.  The fourth album “Awful Good” (11/16) is an old-fashioned acoustic live in-studio style performance album with deep roots influences and sweet vocal harmonies featuring ensemble players Nicholas Walker on double bass\, Rosie Newton on violin and vocals\, and Greg Evans on drums. His fifth album “Alone in the House” (3/17) is a solo guitar and voice project recorded with one microphone in one day. Both albums were produced by multi Grammy winning engineer Brian Dozoretz. \nChopak’s sixth studio album was engineered by Angelo Peters at Black Bear Studios with Rosie Newton\, Greg Evans\, and Joey Arcuri\, and will be released in 2019. \nLunchtime Music Series\n\ninformal and eclectic.\nMusical styles range from solo jazz piano\, to modern string duos to folk.\nMusic starts a 1pm\nno cover – no reservations.\n Lunch is served concurrently from 11am – 3pm.\n\n\n\n	Related

SUMMARY:Jaimie Lee - 9/22
DESCRIPTION:Afternoon Lunch Music\n\nJaimie Lee grew up in North Carolina\, where her love for music began. She always enjoyed singing and had an urge to write songs. Learning to play the guitar was the perfect avenue for this creative venture. Through high school and college\, she played solo gigs at coffee shops\, special events\, and bars/restaurants. Her musical influences early on were Sheryl Crow\, Alanis Morissette\, Jim Croce\, and Ingrid Michaelson among others. Now in the Finger Lakes Region of New York\, she is a solo musician playing a variety of covers as well as originals. Frequently deemed as having the “voice of an angel” (though if you ask her\, that’s a bit of a stretch)\, Jaimie Lee has developed an Americana/folk/pop music style. She has a knack for putting her unique twist on cover songs and singing with a passion that will convince you those songs were her own. Her original songs are clever\, thought provoking\, and sometimes humorous with a hint of sass. \nJaimie can be heard at a variety of venues including wineries\, breweries\, restaurants\, weddings and other special events. See the events page of Jaimie’s website for upcoming shows\, most of which are in the Finger Lakes Region of New York. \nLunchtime Music Series\n\ninformal and eclectic.\nMusical styles range from solo jazz piano\, to modern string duos to folk.\nMusic starts a 1pm\nno cover – no reservations.\n Lunch is served concurrently from 11am – 3pm.\n\n\n\n	Related

SUMMARY:Tom Mank and Sera Smolen
DESCRIPTION:Saturday\, July 27th\, 2019\nRed Newt welcomes Tom Mank and Sera Smolen to a special Saturday lunchtime music event.  1pm-2:30pm \n\nWith Ellen Shae (Guitar\, Vocal) and Rich Depaolo (Guitar)\nTom Mank and Sera Smolen have been performing and writing music together since 1994. Mank\, a self-taught singer-songwriter\, and Smolen\, a conservatory trained cellist\, blend their musical languages into an eclectic style. Guitar\, voice\, and cello have many ways of blending\, with the cello as bass\, and doubling with guitar or soloing. Mank’s eloquent writing of instrumentals is contrasted well with his poetic lyrics. Their newest CD\, Unlock the Sky\, will be released later in 2016.  Like their 3 previous CDs (Swimming in the Dark\, Paper Kisses\, and Where the Sun Meets the Blue)\, the new one was recorded primarily in Bearsville\, NY\, but also in Minneapolis\, MN\, Ithaca\, NY\, and in Belgium\, with Ithaca\, Woodstock\, and European musicians and vocalists contributing. \nTom Mank\, a US-based independent singer-songwriter for the past twenty years\, has played in folk\, blues\, and bluegrass bands collaborating with a host of singers and instrumentalists in Boston\, MA\, Brattleboro\, VT\, Keene\, NH\, and Ithaca\, NY. He currently performs with Smolen and many other musicians and continues to generate new music. \nDr. Sera Jane Smolen is an active performer of many genres of music\, including four centuries of classical music. In addition to her collaboration with Mank\, she has performed extensively with the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra\, Albert Consort (New Violin Family)\, Tri-Cities Opera\, Mansfield University Piano Trio\, Ithaca Piano Trio\, Trio Melange\, Chiron Festival of the Creative Spirit\, and Cornell University Hesterian Musicism. She has taught at Mansfield University\, Alfred University\, Hobart & William Smith\, and Ithaca College. She is the assistant director of the New Directions Cello Festival\, a founding member of the Binghamton Cello Festival\, and a guest clinician around the US and Canada. \n\nLunchtime Music Series\n\ninformal and eclectic.\nMusical styles range from solo jazz piano\, to modern string duos to folk.\nMusic starts a 1pm\nno cover – no reservations.\n Lunch is served concurrently from 11am – 3pm.\n\n\n\n	Related

SUMMARY:Gerard Burke
DESCRIPTION:Afternoon Lunch Music with Gerard\nDelta bluesman Gerard Burke has entertained listeners across New York’s Southern Tier and Central New regions with his unique brand of acoustic finger blues\, played in the style of the old masters. \nBurke’s professional motto\, ‘One man\, one guitar’\, is an efficient description of his solo musical act. Using a resonator and standard acoustic guitars\, finger picks and a brass slide\, he creates a sound that is appropriate for almost any-sized venue. \nWhen people hear blues\, they usually imagine a combo – a group of like-minded individuals – who share a love for the genre and love playing it even more. Gerard is a pleasant reminder that it was all started by solo players traveling across Mississippi’s Delta region in the early 1900s. With each performance\, Gerard Burke provides an authentic experience and a glimpse into history . \nLunchtime Music Series\n\ninformal and eclectic.\nMusical styles range from solo jazz piano\, to modern string duos to folk.\nMusic starts a 1pm\nno cover – no reservations.\n Lunch is served concurrently from 11am – 3pm.\n\n\n\n	Related

SUMMARY:Hoot and Holler
DESCRIPTION:Sunday Afternoon Music with Hoot and Holler / Americana Roots Duo\nBrought together by a mutual love for American folk music\, Amy Alvey (fiddle\, guitar) and Mark Kilianski (guitar\, banjo) have been entertaining audiences all over the U.S. with their tight duo sound since 2013. They call themselves Hoot and Holler as a nod to the “hootenanny” song gatherings during the folk revival of the 1960s\, while also hinting at the infectious energy that occurs during a barn dance in the south. After cutting their teeth in Boston’s burgeoning roots music scene for two and a half years\, they could not help but heed the call of the open road\, and spent the better part of 2016 touring nationally while living in their camper van “Irene”. Ever inspired by the enduring spirit of traditional Appalachian mountain music\, they now call Asheville\, North Carolina their home. Their songwriting comes across as simple\, honest\, and fresh to the ears. Both are Berklee College of Music alumni\, and the listener can expect the polished technique of conservatory training\, in tandem with the grit\, drive\, and soul of musicians like Roscoe Holcomb or Ola Belle Reed. \nLunchtime Music Series \n\ninformal and eclectic.\nMusical styles range from solo jazz piano\, to modern string duos to folk.\nMusic starts a 1pm\nno cover – no reservations.\n Lunch is served concurrently from 11am – 3pm.\n\n  \n\n\n	Related
