2019 Dry Riesling
Potentially the coolest vintage since 2009, the 2019 vintage was saved by some seriously great weather in early Fall (September—October), which created ideal conditions for flavor ripening. This wine is showing lovely fruit, backed by an acid backbone that livens up the wine and allows this vintage to be aged. Drink now or hang onto this bottling for the about five years.
RS: 0.4% TA: 7.5 g/L pH: 3.15 ALC: 12.6
2019 Pinot Gris
While the Classic Label Pinot Gris grapes come from Curry Creek Vineyards it is lighter and more refreshing than its Single Vineyard iteration. This Pinot Gris is fruit-forward, relaxed, and ready to be sipped on a summer night. A wine that is uncomplicated and joyous for those very occasions.
92 James Suckling
RS: 0.4% TA: 7.05 g/L pH: 3.5 ALC: 12.6%
2021 Gewurztraminer
The Red Newt Cellars ‘Classic Label’ Gewurztraminer is internally referred to as “the every night Gewurztraminer.” As beautiful as the single vineyard Gewurztraminers we bottle are, they are opulent wines with a very loud personality. The Classic Label version is made and blended in such a way that it is lighter, more refreshing, and with more fruit aromas as compared to rose perfume. A friendlier Gewurztraminer.
RS: 0.5% TA: 6.3 g/l pH: 3.64 ALC: 13.0%
2020 Gruner Veltliner
Crisp, refreshing, and perfect for a hot summer day. 2020 was an exceptional vintage in the Finger Lakes. Warm and even temperatures throughout, with less than average, but well-spaced rainfall resulted in small berries and increased yields across the board. The mild winter preceding the growing season provided the vines with all the necessary “ingredients” to produce a larger crop without sacrificing quality. One of the first Gruner Veltliners from Lahoma Vineyards, these grapes sit on the back portion of "the Knoll" right next to the Riesling. White pepper, flint, and crisp fruit run from the nose right through to the palate and finish.
RS: 0.2% TA: 7.4g/L pH: 3.25 ALC: 12.0%
2023 Merlot
Pure and refreshing expression of well grown Merlot in the Finger Lakes. Medium-bodied with dark currants and soft tannins.
2023 Cabernet Franc
New release, along with the 2023 Merlot. Both sourced from the same vineyard on the east side of Seneca Lake, this wine is full-bodied, with bright cherry and acid throughout. A great example of why Cabernet Franc is king of the reds in the Finger Lakes.
