Winemakers’ Library Wednesday

2006 Tierce Riesling – 2007 Tierce Red

For over 15 years the Red Newt Bistro has had arguably the most extensive restaurant wine list of exclusively Finger Lakes wines in the world!   With hundreds of wines from dozens of Finger Lakes wineries, the collection includes beautifully aged vintages… many of the wines in our cellar may not exist anywhere else.  Since reducing our dinner service in 2015, these wines have been aging peacefully… but it’s time to drink them.

Today, we’ve opened up to terrific wines from the past:

2007 Tierce Red – smoke, black pepper, black raspberry on nose. Tannins persistent and firm. Palate carries ample acidity, supporting a lengthy finish with dusty tannins, black currant, and wood ash.

2006 Tierce Riesling – crisp, electric palate, Bosc pears, lime pith. Palate is tightly textured with slight hints of petrol. Beautifully aged with vibrant, lingering finish.

Come on in for lunch…  Have a taste, enjoy a glass, take a bottle home !

For the rest of the day, or until the wine is sold out, we’ll offer these wines by the taste and by the glass.

Wines will be available for purchase for the next few days, or until they are gone!
