Red Newt Cellars - Yellow Jail |
|
|
Yellow Jail shows intense and expressive varietal characters...but with restraint.
Dry and focused, it is great for solitary enjoyment or with a ration of Chicken Breast sautéed with Caramelized Pears and Proscuitto.
This blend of Pinot Gris, Riesling and Gewurztraminer was inspired by the "Gentil" wines of Alsace. This wine is elegantly aromatic with elements of pinapple, apple, pear, and melon with a creamy mouthfeel that finishes with hints of citrus and spice.
The Yellow Jail is the Historic Washington County Courthouse, built in 1869, located in Salem, NY. It has been one of landscape painter Harry Orlyk's frequent topics for over 20 years. When the decision was made in 2002 to decommission the courthouse and jail, the Historic Salem Courthouse Preservation Association (HSCPA) was formed to preserve and protect this historic structure as a focal point of the region.
